Data Manager – St Constantine’s International School

Role Reports to:   Deputy Headteacher

The Data Manager is responsible for the smooth running of the school’s data management system (iSAMS) and various other related information software and applications. This includes, but is not limited to, timetables, assessment, staff central register, medical modules, clubs programme and examinations. The Data Manager will work for and alongside staff of all levels including the leadership team to assist in providing strategic and effective management of and in all data and reporting systems.

Job Description:

The Data Manager is expected to:

  •   First and foremost, assist and support the Deputy Headteacher and Headteacher.
  •   Assist and support the management teams.
  •   Assist and support the Primary and Secondary Staff.
  •   Promote and contribute to the school's aims (mission, vision, values, policies).
  •  Promote a positive school culture which is happy, purposeful and productive.
  • Maintain a pleasant, cooperative public relationship with the school community.
  •  Assist and support staff whenever possible.
  •  Work within the school’s performance management system.
  • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.

Responsibilities:

The Data Manager will:

  • Have overall responsibility for the management and maintenance of iSAMS and the administrative processes associated with it to meet the needs of the teaching and support staff.
  •  Liaise with the Deputy Head (Academic) and Deputy Head (Pupil Wellbeing) to take primary responsibility for the implementation, maintenance and development of all iSAMS modules, especially those currently in use e.g. Attendance, Assessment, reporting to parents, Timetable, Registration, etc.
  •  Act as the primary liaison for iSAMS, both within school and outside, and to oversee all issues and troubleshoot where necessary in conjunction with the Director of ICT.
  •   Liaise closely with staff at all levels to ensure that the data held within iSAMS is up to date.
  •  Administer, manage and analyse data from all standardised tests and external/internal examinations
  •  Ensure the efficient input, management and co-ordination of all school data in the School
  • Data Management System (iSAMS) and related information software and applications.
  • Track data and oversee all cycles of pupil grades and reports.
  • Create and maintain report templates for use with iSAMS.
  •  Provide timely census data as required and ensure the staff central register is up to date.
  •  Provide the Headteacher and the leadership team with accurate, timely and user friendly data.
  •  Generate data questions for the school management and leadership teams.
  •  Analyse data, identify trends and anomalies.
  • Respond to data questions from the school management and leadership teams..
  •  Assume ultimate responsibility for the maintenance of all school data.
  •  Provide, supervise and monitor the training of administrative and teaching staff in the use of iSAMS together with the leadership team.
  • Take a lead role in the implementation and development of new school applications in so far as they interact with iSAMS or school data in general and to act as an administrator and provide support for the use of such systems, including but not limited to the online calendar, students’ and parents’ portals.
  • Liaise with the IT Manager and HR Manager on technical and security issues affecting iSAMS, other school applications and school data in general.
  • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required.

Knowledge and Experience

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of ICT experience essential.
  •  A higher level qualification in an ICT-related field.
  •  Previous related experience would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a school environment would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills
