The Ministry of the Presidency, Regional Administration and Local Government (Tamils), has instructed regional education officers and council directors, to ensure that teachers who have been promoted, are paid their eligibility starting in August.

The order was issued yesterday by Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry, Tixon Nzunda, when he visited Bumbi and Kigongo primary schools located in Misungwi district of Mwanza Province.

The two schools were implementing an opportunity project for children from 2014 to 2018 with funding from the Children in Crossfire (CIC) involved with the early development and development of children in partnership with the Home Economics Agency (Tahea).

The order was issued as a result of complaints from some of the teachers who claimed to have been promoted but five months had passed and they have not been paid any new salaries.

“Stand up to you guys (education officials) to make sure teachers are changed their salaries because when some lazy staff officers, the directors make a monthly check-in because they can create a corrupt environment in order to qualify.

“If you are a leader but your job is to prevent your colleagues from succeeding you are not a leader (not a leader), we want leaders who enable their leaders to succeed.
