The National Education and Technical Council (Nacte) has prevented 163 universities from qualifying students at various degrees and diploma courses, after being diagnosed with shortcomings when there are no qualified teachers.
Speaking today, on March 23 and journalists, Head of Monitoring and Evaluation of Nacte, DK Annastella Sigwejo said they performed a 459 college audit, among which 296, thus satisfying the criteria for providing education at the required level.
"As a result, they are allowed to qualify students for various courses in diploma and diploma courses in March and April this year."
He said despite 580 registered colleges, they decided to satisfy themselves by making sure they were able to verify 459 colleges.
