Hakizetu Tanzania is a registered non-governmental organization working on preventing violence against women and girls basically child marriage and teenage pregnancy. Hakizetu is implementing different activities including Economic Empowerment, Capacity building, awareness raising activities (Community and in-school dialogues, video sessions), social and legal aid and counseling.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Field Officer to support the Hakizetu Tanzania activities/Programs which intended on violation prevention and women/girls economic empowerment, Economic Strengthening and Resource mobilization initiatives in various activities related to the implementation of the Program in Nyamagana, Ilemela and Magu districts.
Specific duties and responsibilities
The Field Officer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Advise Hakizetu Tanzania on programmatic strategy, including where to focus program resources and how to address programmatic challenges as they arise.
• To assist Hakizetu Tanzania in planning, management, execution and monitoring of all project activities.
• To work in close coordination with technical section to ensure quality of work.
• Manage relationships with relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to Government departments at the Agency and local levels, community members, beneficiaries and local organizations and communities.
• Establish and oversee consultative processes between Hakizetu Tanzania structures and target communities to identify, recommend, design, and develop projects for funding.
• Identify potential communities with the consultation of political administration and address their demands accordingly to program policy.
• Ensure the successful implementation of project activities, including planning and the transparent procurement of grant-related goods and services. Successful implementation should include on-going consultative processes, and government and community involvement in all phases.
• In conjunction with other program staff, evaluate completed projects.
• Share with other program staff successful methodologies for consultative approaches to grant development and implementation.
• To persistently coordinate with the implementing partners to track physical progress of the ongoing grants.
• To interact/ hold meetings with the Hakizetu Tanzania and beneficiaries aiming at improving the quality and deliverables and subsequently gaining the confidence of stake holders.
• Participate in the bidding of grants and assist the logistics in relevant documentation.
• Writing of grants ideas, success stories and weekly activities updates.
• To assign duties to field staff, and their capacity building in report writings, grants updates and community mobilization.
• To supervise and manage all activities in absence of Hakizetu Tanzania team leader.
• Assist the Project Director and project officers to conduct the field activities (preparation, implementation, reporting);
• Conduct field visits to concerned municipalities to collect needed information as identified by the project technical team (community resources, risks and hazards, etc.)
• Assist in the data analysis process;
• Assist in compiling the reports; and
• Assist the project team in general to achieve the set tasks as per the Program/project (s) action plan (s).
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelors Degree or its equivalent on education, gender issues, Community Development, Sociology, Project plan Management, social sciences or its equivalents and proven experience in a similar field.
• 03 to 05 years experience with project design, development, management, and implementation of development-type projects. She/he should 03 to 05 years experience with project design, development, management, and implementation of development-type projects. She/he should have experience in community participation and consultative-type projects. The Field Officer must have the capacity to understand and analyze national, regional, and local gender issues, and the creativity and analytical capacity to design and implement grants with the interface between organization and communities.
• Computer application skills and Email and internet uses
• Female candidates will be preferred.
Languages
Excellent communication and report writing skills including command of both Kiswahili and English.
