The Board of Directors of the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Authority (EWURA) has refused to extend the Independent Power Tanzania Limited Limited (IPTL) power supply license license after its electrical licensing license expired.

On March 28 this year, IPTL submitted an application to EWURA requesting the extension of its 55-year-old operating license country from July 16, 2017 to 15 January 2022.
