Job Title:
Safety Officer

Department : Safety and Quality

Reports to: Managing Director

Deadline:  26th January 2022

Job Summary:

The safety officer is an internal employee who is assigned to prevent accidents, respond to emergencies and evaluate the effectiveness of the company's safety programs. 

Responsibilities

  • Provides HSE leadership, training and operational support to all levels of the organization and across all consultancy clients
  • Track Company and client’s health and safety metrics and use the data to identify and to reduce risks
  • Assist in all aspects of incident investigation including verifying root cause and approving the implementation of preventive actions
  • Ensures emergency response systems, policies and procedures are in place to manage emergency situations.

  • Maintains all Local and International permits in current and valid condition.
  • Recommends and administers operational policies, procedures, and processes in support of auxiliary services operations in assigned area of responsibility; implements and monitors compliance with approved policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Manage schedules and deadlines
  • Monitor costs and expenses to assist in budget preparation and implementation
  • Keep abreast with all organizational changes and business developments
  • Ensures that all contacts with clients provides the client with a personalized customer service experience of the highest level and builds interest towards our consultancy services
  • Business Development, Marketing and ensuring profitable HSE consultancy operations
  • Per-forms HSE activities including consultancy, training, surveys, monitoring and evaluations, and any other safety programs as necessary.
  • Prepares regulatory agency submissions including but not limited to OSHA Lopes/reports.
  • Maintains current working knowledge of all applicable HSE regulations.
  • Maintains all necessary training and licensing to function as a per authority on all safety matters.

Qualifications

  • Minimal qualification Bachelor Degree of Science in Environmental Sciences and Management

Experience

  • At least 3 years’ experience working as HSE in any reputable organization
